Configuring PCM+ Agent Module
Configuring PCM+ Agent Module
To begin, a PCM+ Agent Modules ports must be placed in the correct switch
VLANs and an IP address must be assigned to the module.
Configuring PCM+ Agent Module Ports
Assign the PCM+ Agent Module’s two ports as untagged members of two
separate VLANs:
Table 1-3. VLAN requirements for PCM+ Agent Module
For example, if the PCM+ Agent Module is in slot C, and there are two VLANs,
VLAN 1 and VLAN 2 configured on the switch, use the following commands
from the switch CLI to configure the port memberships.
hostswitch (config)# vlan 1 untagged c1
hostswitch (config)# vlan 2 untagged c2
Configuring PCM+ Agent Module IP Address
Enter the product management menu by entering the following command:
hostswitch (config)# services <slot ID> <product index>
or
hostswitch (config)# services <slot-id> name <application-name>
Replace <slot ID> with the letter of the chassis slot in which the module
is installed. Replace <product index> with the index number associated
with thePCM+ Agent Application or use pcm-agent for the <application-
name>.
Module Port Mode VLAN requirements
<slot ID> 1 untagged 1. Must be a different VLAN than the one used by
port <slot ID 2>. VLAN
<slot ID> 2 untagged 1. This VLAN must provide network access to the
PCM+ 3.10 Server. If the switch has a
management VLAN, that VLAN is a good
choice.
2. If you wish to use DHCP for the Agent’s IP
address, this VLAN also must have access to
a DHCP server.
