Troubleshooting
Symptom / Solution
• From the switch CLI Manager or Global Configuration context, issue
the following command for a PCM+ Agent Module in slot C, services
c name pcm-agent to get the HP PCM Agent Main Menu.Type 2 to access
the Diagnostics menu, then another 2 to show the Connection Status.
The Agent connection status will be one of the following:
• Unknown= Either the Agent service is not running or it is booting.
• Unable_to_connect=Disconnected (reason unknown). The Agent
tried to connect but could not reach the Server or the Server contacted
the Agent and there was a network error before they could exchange
credentials. Possible causes can be: Encryption mismatch or other
configuration error, firewall enabled, wrong Server IP, PCM+ 3.1
Server not running, or the Agent has not been activated in the Agent
Manager.
• Server_password_mismatch=Unauthorized. The PCM+ 3.1
Server password has been rejected by the Agent. A TCP connection
has been successfully established but the credentials provided by the
Server did not match the Agent’s records.
• Agent_password_mismatch=Unauthorized (Agent password has
been rejected by the PCM+ 3.1 Server). A TCP connection has been
successfully established but the credentials provided by the Agent did
not match the Server’s records.
