Switch Software Requirements
For the J9517x (where “x” is the version letter A, B, and so on) module, software release K.14.60 or greater is
required on your zl Switch. To download this version of software, go to the HP Networking Web site at
www.hp.com/networking/support
, then, under Support in the left NAV pane, click on Software to go to the page
that has the software downloads. Click Switches, then choose the software update file you require.
Note: Software versions K.15.xx do not currently support the HP AllianceONE Extended Services
zl Module with Riverbed Steelhead RiOS Application. Check the release notes of a K.15.xx version
to determine if it supports this product.
Application Licenses
Activation of the Riverbed Steelhead Application requires a token that is provided on the HP License Registration
Card included with the HP AllianceONE Extended Services zl Module. You use the token to generate a license
request key which enables you to obtain the required Riverbed Steelhead RiOS Application licenses. After you
install the HP AllianceONE Extended Services zl Module and run the Riverbed Steelhead RiOS Application
configuration wizard you can activate the token.

Included Support Services
HP Networking offers support services for the hardware platform that hosts the Riverbed Steelhead RiOS
Application. Riverbed offers support services on the application. These services are described below.
Riverbed Support Included with Purchase Price
24 x 7 access to the following: Riverbed Support Web Site; Phone and Email Support; Software Support, including
maintenance releases and major upgrades, for one (1) year. Support beyond the first year is available for purchase
from Riverbed.
HP Support Included with Purchase Price
Technical assistance via email and telephone, as well as electronic case submission, are available during HP
local business hours for product-specific questions on product features, specifications, product installation,
general hardware configuration, basic troubleshooting, and usage.
