Switch Software Requirements
For the J9485x (where “x” is the version letter A, B, and so on) module, switch software release K.14.60 or greater
is required on your zl switch. To download this version of software, go to the HP Networking Web site at
www.hp.com/networking/support, then, under
Support sites in the right NAV pane, click on ProCurve support.
Under Download the latest software click Switches, then choose the software update file you require.
Note: Software versions K.15.xx do not currently support the HP Survivable Branch Communication
zl Module. Check the release notes of a K.15.xx version to determine if it supports this product.
HP Support Included with Purchase Price
The HP AllianceOne Extended Services zl Module has a lifetime warranty*. Technical phone and email support
and software releases, if and when available, are included in the purchase price. Please refer to
www.hp.com/networking/warranty for details.
The HP Support included with the purchase price does not include Windows, Microsoft Lync, or PSTN Media
Gateway software support. HP provided support and updates for these software products require the customer
to purchase support services from HP. For more information, visit

* Hardware warranty replacement for as long as you own the product, with next business day advance replacement (available in
most countries). The disk drive included with HP AllianceOne Advanced Services and Services zl Modules, HP Threat Management
Services zl Module, HP AllianceOne Extended Services zl Module, and HP E-MSM765zl Mobility Controller has a five-year hardware

Operating Notes
■ CAUTION: Do NOT remove the module after installing it in the switch chassis for the first time. HDD
initialization requires up to 15 minutes for completion.
■ Windows media is not available. Instead, a pre-imaged hard disk is available as a warranty replacement
for a failed HDD. See the HP Survivable Branch Communication zl Module powered by Microsoft
Lync™ Administrator’s Guide for instructions on replacing an existing SBM. See the HP AllianceONE
Extended Services zl Module Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) Installation Guide for information on
replacing a failed unit.
■ Customers are encouraged to implement their own backup strategy. The hard disk included with the
product does have a system recovery partition, used to restore factory defaults. No customer data are
stored there. The Windows Server Backup feature is accessible from the Administrative Tools. This
feature supports both local and remote backups. Refer to Microsoft documentation for information on
using this tool to backup and restore a system.
