Managing the HP AllianceONE Extended Services zl Module with the Riverbed® Steelhead® RiOS® Application
Overview
Internal Ports on the HP AllianceONE Extended
Services zl Module
The Extended Services zl Module is connected to the HP zl switch through its
two internal 10GbE ports. In the switch CLI, these ports are identified by the
slot in which the Extended Services zl Module is installed:
■ <slot>1
■ <slot>2
For the Extended Services zl Module (which uses two slots in the HP zl
switch), use the letter of the bottom slot. For example, if the module is
installed in slots A and C, the internal ports are C1 and C2.
Port 1 (<slot>1) is sometimes referred to as the interception port because the
HP zl switch sends intercepted traffic to this port.
Port 2 (<slot>2) is sometimes referred to as the normal port because it
functions as a normal traffic port. In addition, management traffic and com-
munications between the Extended Services zl Module and the HP zl switch
are sent on this port.
By default, both internal ports are untagged members of the default VLAN on
the HP zl switch. (The default VLAN is typically VLAN 1.)
