Verifying the Status of the Steelhead
Application
Both the HP switch and the Steelhead Application provide useful show com-
mands, which you can use to check the operation of the Steelhead Application
and to gather information about the switch or the module.
HP zl Switch Commands
show modules
To verify that the switch recognizes the Extended Services zl Module with
Steelhead Application, enter:
hostswitch# show modules
You will see output similar to the following:
Status and Counters – Module Information
Chassis: 5406zl J8697A Serial Number: SG841SU0RI
Management Module: J8726A Serial Number: YYYYYYYYY

Notice that the output shows the Extended Services zl Module in slot C. Slot
A is an expansion slot for this module. For the purposes of the HP zl switch
CLI, the module is in slot C.
show version
If the HP zl Switch does not recognize the Extended Services zl Module, ensure
that the switch is running software version K.14.58 or above. Enter:
hostswitch# show version
