The HP AllianceONE Extended Services zl Module with the Riverbed

Steel-

head

RiOS

Application combines:

■ Wide Area Network (WAN) optimization product from Riverbed

■ Layer 3/4 switch from HP

With this product, IT support staff can deploy a secure, reliable networking

infrastructure based on open standards, while providing branch office

employees with better application performance.

If your organization leases WAN lines to connect branch offices to the corpo-

rate network so that employees at those branch offices can access data on the

corporate network, you may be struggling to overcome the low throughput

and high latency of your WAN links. With the

Steelhead

Application, you can

solve these WAN-related issues and improve application performance over

WAN links. Riverbed Steelhead appliances enable you to consolidate and

centralize key IT resources.

For example, by installing a Steelhead appliance at a branch office, an enter-

prise enables branch office employees to more easily access data at the

corporate main office. Without a Steelhead appliance, the enterprise might

have to install multiple WAN lines or deploy network servers and storage
