Getting Started
Configure the Steelhead Application
7. Answer yes if you want to have your network DHCP server assign the
Steelhead application a dynamic IP address. Answer no if you want to
assign it a static IP address. If you answer no, you will be prompted to
enter the static IP address, network mask, default gateway, DNS server,
and domain name. Refer to Table 3-1 to complete the initial configuration
wizard.
If you answer yes, the next prompt is displayed.
Step 3: Admin password?
8. Answer yes to configure a new management password for the Steelhead
Application. Press Enter to continue without configuring a new password.
Riverbed recommends that you change the management password.
The next prompt is displayed:
Step 4: SMTP server?
9. Enter the IP address of your email server if you want to receive email
notifications about the Steelhead Application. Press Enter if you do not
want to receive such notifications.
The next prompt is displayed:
Step 5: Notification email address?
10. If you answered yes to the previous prompt, enter the email address that
should receive the notifications. Otherwise, press Enter to move to the
next step.
The next prompt is displayed:
Step 6: Set the primary interface speed? [auto]
11. Select the auto setting to have the interface automatically negotiate the
speed.
The next prompt is displayed:
Step 7: Set the primary interface duplex?
12. Select the auto setting to have the interface negotiate the duplex setting.
The next prompt is displayed:
Step 8: Would you like to activate the in-path
configuration?
13. Answer no. Because you are configuring the Steelhead Application that is
running on an Extended Services zl Module, you do not want to activate
an in-path configuration. The HP zl switch is intercepting packets on
behalf of the application.
