Manage and Monitor the HP SBM Locally
Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)
Lync Server Management Shell
The Lync Server Management Shell, which you can use to manually enter CS
cmdlets, is pinned to the Start menu. Remember to run the shell as an
administrator.
To obtain a list of commands, use the get-command cmdlet. You can narrow
your search by adding character strings and wildcards. For example, enter:
get-command *pstn*
To see the syntax, usage, and sometimes examples for a command, enter:
get-help <command>
Refer to Microsoft documentation for CS cmdlets. Note that you might not be
able to use some cmdlets depending on your domain membership.
Media Gateway Commands
You can enter several commands to monitor and maintain the SBM’s Media
Gateway. Chapter 6: “Troubleshooting” describes several useful ones.
Access the Setup Wizard or Dashboard
The Manage HP SBM shortcut on the desktop opens either the Setup Wizard,
if you have not yet completed it, or the Dashboard. The first time that you click
the shortcut, you might be prompted to add about:blank to your trusted sites;
do so. (Also, if prompted that you are going to view pages over a secure
connection, click OK.)
You should use the desktop shortcut to open the wizard or Dashboard rather
than opening IE and accessing the SBM’s hostname. If you do use IE, follow
these tips:
As with all applications, open IE by right-clicking and selecting Run as
administrator.
Access the Setup Wizard or Dashboard at https://localhost rather than at
the SBM’s hostname. If you do enter the hostname, you will have to add
it to your trusted sites.
