Access with the services tech Command
The following HP zl switch command gives you pass through access to the OS
running on the SBM:
hostzlswitch(config)# services <slot ID> tech
Note that the command must be entered from the switch’s global configuration
mode.
If you enter this command while the SBM is booting, you can monitor the
bootup process.If the SBM was not shutdown before the reboot, you will have
the option to boot it in Safe Mode.
After SBM is booted (whether or not in Safe Mode), you are placed in the
Special Administration Console (SAC). However, if the boot fails, you will see
the HP SBM Recovery Menu instead.
SAC
The SAC provides several commands to help you to recover the SBM and to
manage it remotely in a situation in which typical means of access have failed.
To access the SAC, enter this command from the global configuration mode
context of the HP zl switch CLI:
For example:
hostzlswitch(config)# services c tech
If the SBM is in the process of booting, the management session might hang.
Wait. As the SBM reboots, messages will begin to be displayed. If the SBM is
running, press
[Enter] until you see the SAC prompt.
Enter help or ? to see a list of available commands.
Syntax: services <slot ID> tech
Replace <slot ID> with the ID for the lower slot in which the
SBM is installed.
