Install Updates

To update the software of the HP Survivable Branch Communication zl

Module (SBM) powered by Microsoft Lync

, you will receive an installer file,

which you run in a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) session with the SBM.

Before you install the new software, however, you must run an uninstaller to

uninstall existing software.

You should also be aware that updating the Media Gateway software writes

over your existing Media Gateway configuration. Before you update the

software, take screenshots to document your configuration. You can then

recreate it after the update by clicking PSTN Setup Wizard or PSTN Configuration

in the SBM Dashboard.

You should also save a copy of your PSTN configuration and any logs that you

want to preserve. You can access these files by establishing an RDP session with

the SBM and moving to

C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\SIP-PSTN Gateway

The config folder contains three files that you will want to preserve:

 gw.properties

 pstn-config.xml

 routing-rules.xml
