Command-Line Reference
Interface Configuration Mode
ip default-gateway
This command sets the default gateway for an interface with a static IP
address.
Syntax: ip default-gateway <gateway IP address> [metric]
Replace <gateway IP address> with the IP address of the router or routing
switch on this interface’s subnet. You can optionally specify a value for the
metric. The lower the metric, the higher the priority of the default route on
this interface.
For example:
hostzlswitch(hp-sbm-branch:eth-2)# ip default-gateway
10.1.1.1 10
ip dns
This command speechifies the IP address of the DNS server for the interface.
Syntax: ip dns server-address priority [1 | 2] <DNS IP address>
Select 1 or 2, 1 being the primary DNS server and 2, the secondary DNS server.
Replace <DNS IP address> with the IP address of the primary DNS server.
interface
This command moves you to an interface configuration context.
Syntax: interface <1 | 2 | management>
Type 1 to configure the Internal Ethernet Port 1 (corresponds with the <slot-
ID>1 port in the HP zl switch CLI).
Type 2 to configure the Internal Ethernet Port 2 (corresponds with the <slot-
ID>2 port in the HP zl switch CLI).
Type management to configure the Management port on the front panel of
the SBM.
