SBM powered by Microsoft Lync Administrator's Guide 2010-11

2-32
Complete the Setup Wizard
Install Server Certificates
If the topology imports successfully, you can move on with the wizard.
However, you will need to regain access to the data center before you start
the Lync Server services and finish the wizard.
Troubleshooting Lync Server Activation
The services that are enabled in this step are:
Registrar for this pool
Mediation server for this pool
Media Gateway (PSTN gateway) for this pool
All of these services run locally on the SBM.
If this step fails, the SBM might not have finished processing the replication
of the Lync server topology. Wait several minutes. Then click Retry Installation.
Install Server Certificates
Before you install the certificate, you need to determine whether the SBM has
the correct CA certificate chain installed. Many domains use group policy
objects (GPOs) to automatically push this chain to devices when they join the
domain. Therefore, the SBM might have received the chain already; ask your
data center contact.
If a GPO did not push the CA certificate chain to the SBM, or if you do not
know whether it did, follow the steps in “Import the Certificate Chain” on page
2-32. Otherwise, move directly to “Select the Option for Installing the Certifi-
cate” on page 2-33.
Import the Certificate Chain
To install the certificate chain, follow these steps:
1. Obtain the CA certificate or CA certificate chain file from the data center
administrators and copy it to your management station.
2. In the Install Server Certificates page, click Import Certificate Chain.
