Overview of This Guide
It is assumed that the SBM has been installed and the initial tasks necessary
for accessing the Setup Wizard completed. For those instructions, see the HP
Survivable Branch Communication zl Module powered by Microsoft Lync
TM
Installation and Getting Started Guide.
This guide provides instructions for:
Ensuring that you are ready to complete the Setup Wizard
Completing the initial setup and testing the functionality
Managing and monitoring the SBM locally on an ongoing basis
Setting up remote management of the SBM
Managing software updates
Troubleshooting
Ensure that You are Ready to Complete
the Setup Wizard
Before you complete the SBM’s Setup Wizard, the company’s Domain or
Enterprise Admins and Lync Server designers must complete several initial
tasks in the data center. It is recommended that they read the HP SBM
Planning and Design Guide. At the very least they must complete the tasks
listed in Appendix A: “Ready the Data Center for an SBM Deployment.”
Do not move on until your data center contacts indicate that the tasks are
complete and give you the following information:
Hostname (computer name) for the SBM
The SBM’s default hostname is its serial number, which you can see when
you check its IP address through the CLI. (See Chapter 2 in the HP
