Add the Survivable Branch to the Lync Server Topology
Figure A-22. Lync Server 2010 Topology Builder > Define New Survivable Branch
Server—Select an Edge Server Page
13. If your site provides remote access, select the Edge pool at the central site
that the branch site will use, and click Next.
14. For Gateway FQDN or IP address, type the IP address of the device that will
forward PSTN calls:
Typically, specify the same SBM FQDN that you specified for the
survivable branch appliance. narda microwave
Important It is strongly recommmended specifying the SBM’s FQDN, not the SBM's IP
address as specifying the FQDN makes assigning certificates easier.
If certificates are assigned to the FQDN, and if the IP address changes
later, the certificate does not need to be re-issued.
If certificates are assigned to the IP Address, and if the IP Address
changes, a new certificate needs to be generated.
When TLS connections are used in the MS Lync environment, use
FQDN.
If there is no desire to use TLS communications, ever, you may use
FQDN or IP addresses interchangeably.
