Ready the Data Center for an SBM Deployment
Add the Survivable Branch to the Lync Server Topology
g. Create PSTN usage records that route traffic through the SBM:
i. In the Associated PSTN Usages section, click New.
ii. Name the PSTN usage record.
Figure A-30. Lync Server 2010 Control Panel > Voice Routing > Voice Policy > New
PSTN Usage Record Window
h. In the Associated Routes section, click New (or you can select an
existing route).
i. Name the route.
j. Configure the rules for selecting calls for this route. The interface
allows you to specify the leading characters for selected calls, from
which it automatically generates the correct regular expression. You
can also edit the regular expression yourself.
For this simple example, all PSTN calls will be routed out the SBM.
Of course, in your environment, you would probably set up more
routes. For example, you can create rules for least-cost routing such
that the SBM forwards calls toward the PSTN gateway for which that
call is local. Refer to the SBM’s Planning and Design Guide and to
Microsoft documentation for guidelines.
