Communicate Information to the SBM
Administrator
The SBM administrator will require the following information:
■ Hostname (computer name) for the SBM
The SBM’s default hostname is its serial number, which the administrator
can find on the back left corner of the module’s physical hardware.

Also give the administrator the SBM’s permanent hostname, which is the
name in the SBM’s domain computer account.

Permanent FQDN: _____________________________
Note In this guide, hostname and computer name will refer to the same name. Fully
Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) will refer to the fully-qualified name obtained
by combining the hostname with the domain name. For example, the host-
name (computer name) is set to HP-SBM. The domain name is example.hp.com.
The FQDN is HP-SBM.example.hp.com.
■ The default username and password for the SBM’s local Administrator
account, note that a is replaced by @ and o by the digit 0.)
• Username = SBMAdmin
• Password = P@ssw0rd
Note As you see, the local Administrator username has been changed for security.
■ The new password that the technician should assign to the SBM’s local
Administrator account
