Complete the Setup Wizard
Configure IP Settings
Note When you configure an SBM Ethernet interface in the Setup Wizard, the
interface must either receive all settings using DHCP or be configured with all
settings manually.
However, these interfaces do support receiving a DHCP IP address and default
gateway but using a manually-defined DNS server address. If your environ-
ment requires such a setup, you must access the SBM via RDP and configure
the Ethernet interfaces using the typical Windows procedure.
From the remote desktop, you can configure any settings on the Ethernet
Interfaces that are typically supported by Windows Server 2008 R2 interfaces.
(However, this does not mean that all configurations function in your environ-
ment. Consult with a data center engineer before you make advanced config-
urations.)
Note The SBM does not support IPv6.
Advanced Network Settings
Click Advanced Network Settings to configure some extra options for an
interface (which are not typically required):
Specify the interface’s gateway metric (the interface with the lowest metric
is preferred when the same route is known on more than one interface)
Specify WINS server IP addresses
Specifying WINS servers is optional, but if you specify one, you must
specify both.
