Configure the System Time
Although you cannot configure the time on the SBM, you can configure these
settings:
 Timezone
Remember to click Set Time Zone after you select the correct zone from
the list.
 Whether Daylight Saving Time is enabled
Caution If you set Daylight Saving Time on the SBM but not on the switch, the SBM
will become unreliable until this setting is reconciled. If you experience this
problem, first reconcile the setting on the HP zl switch and the SBM. Then
power cycle the SBM at least twice.
If the SBM is not receiving the correct time from the HP zl switch (or if you
need to set Daylight Saving Time on the switch), read the section below.
Otherwise, move directly to “Join the SBM to the Domain” on page 2-16.
Note Changes to the HP zl switch time will not take effect on the SBM until the SBM
reboots.
HP zl Switch Commands for Setting the Time
You or the HP zl switch administrator should set the switch time during the
initial setup.
In case that did not occur, the following sections include the commands for
either:
 Synchronizing the HP zl switch and the domain controller time using
SNTP (recommended for a permanent installation)
 Setting the HP zl switch time manually
Synchronize the HP zl Switch Using SNTP
Follow these steps:
1. Open a CLI management session with the HP zl switch and access the
global configuration context:
hostzlswitch# config
2. Enable SNTP:
hostzlswitch(config)# timesync sntp
