SBM powered by Microsoft Lync™ Administrator's Guide 2011-11

Complete the Setup Wizard
Initiate the Installation Process
Next, the CS Administrator must check the topology and verify that the SBM
has been added as a survivable branch server with the correct FQDN. (See
Appendix A: “Ready the Data Center for an SBM Deployment” or Microsoft
documentation for more details.)
If any changes were made to the topology, the CS Administrator must publish
it. (The topology is automatically enabled when published.)
If only the SPN has changed, the CS Administrator must simply enable the
topology:
1. Log in to a server that has the Lync Server Management Shell. Open the
shell.
2. Enter Enable-CSTopology.
Before proceeding, wait for the topology to replicate. The replication time
depends on the size of the deployment and on your environment.
Troubleshooting Installations
If an installation fails, try again. If it continues to fail, your software image
might be corrupt, or your company’s security policies might be interfering with
the installation. The SBM must be allowed to autorun applications. Refer your
data center contact to Appendix B: “HP SBM Security Hardening,” which lists
security policies that must not be implemented on the SBM.
After you resolve the problem, click Retry Installation to begin the installation
again. Verify that all tasks complete. Then click Next and move to “Install
Server Certificates” on page 2-34.
Troubleshooting Lync Server Replication
The replication might fail for several reasons. Read the sections below to find
your problem.
