Complete the Setup Wizard
Initiate the Installation Process
Failed Network Connection. If you see a “network related or instance-
specific” error, the SBM’s link to the server at the data center that stores the
topology might have failed. Test this theory by pinging that server from a
command prompt via RDP or from the SBM OS CLI. If the link has failed, you
can either:
Wait until the link is restored and then click Restart Automated Replication
Process.
Attempt a manual replication (see the section below)
Manual Replication. Manual replication allows you to continue with the
setup process while the link is being restored. (You will not be able to complete
the entire Setup Wizard, however, until the link is back up.)

For a manual replication, you must have your domain’s updated Lync Server
topology file saved as a .zip file.
Note If you are completing the Setup Wizard via RDP, save the .zip file to a USB.
Then insert the USB device in the slot on the SBM front panel.
In the Setup Wizard, click Manual Replication under Next Steps. Click the
Browse button that is displayed below and browse to the topology file. Click
IMPORT.
