Complete the Setup Wizard
PSTN Configuration
The interfaces on the cards are numbered from left to right. Therefore, to
ensure high audio quality, always connect the left interface first. If you want
multiple connections, you can then select any other interfaces.
Check Channel Status
Next check the channel status to verify that the PSTN circuits are up and ready
for calls. In the PSTN Configuration page, click Channel Status.
Figure 2-47. Setup Wizard—PSTN Line Status Page
In the PSTN Line Status page, you see the status for each channel on each of
your lines. The page is automatically refreshed every 30 seconds.
Click Legend to see the status indicated by various colors and letters.
Because you have connected your interfaces to the PSTN, the channels for
your lines should be blue and marked I (for Idle).
Alarms are indicated by orange channels and A. If you see alarms and the line
is connected, read “Interface is Connected But the Line Has Alarms” on page
2-71.
Note The PSTN Line Status page provides some other options for managing the
channels, which will be discussed in a later chapter.
Click the X in the top right corner to return to the Gateway Configuration page.
You can now configure more advanced settings or move on to the next step:
If you have an FXS interface that connects to a data device (like a fax
machine), see “Enable External Clocking for Data Devices” on page 2-67.
If you want to configure a variety of advanced settings, see “Advanced
Configuration” on page 2-66.
If you do not need to troubleshoot or configure advanced settings, click
Next and move to “Start the Lync Services” on page 2-75.
