Getting Started
Obtain IP Connectivity to the SBM
Determine the SBM’s IP Address
You must now determine the IP address at which to contact the SBM. (Some-
times the SBM receives a fixed DHCP address from a reservation, but you
should still verify that the proper address has been received.)
Note You must have management access to the HP zl switch in which the SBM is
installed to complete these steps. If you are not in charge of managing the
switch, hand this section off to the HP switch administrator
.
Follow these steps:
1. From the HP zl switch CLI, view the ONE Services zl Modules (such as
SBM) installed in the switch:
hostzlswitch(config)# show services
You should see output similar to the following. Note the index number for
the service described as Survivable Branch Module—Microsoft. For
example, in Figure 2-1 you can see that the index number is 2.
Figure 2-1. HP zl Switch CLI—show services Output
2. From the HP zl switch CLI, access the SBM Product OS:
hostzlswitch# services c 2
The precise syntax is:
3. View the IP address:
hostzlswitch(hp-sbm-branch-C)# show ip
Syntax: services <slot ID> <index number>
Replace <slot ID> with the ID of the lower slot in which the
SBM is installed.
Replace <index number> with the index number that you just
noted for the SBM.
