IMPORTANT: First Time Power On
The Hard Disk Drive of the HP Survivable Branch Communication zl Module powered by Microsoft
Lync™ (SBM) must be initialized at first power on. This will take approximately 15 minutes. If the
module is removed or if the switch chassis is rebooted during this time, hard disk corruption will
likely occur. Once this initialization is complete, it will not need to occur again during normal
operation.
Switch Software Requirements
K.14.XX Branch
CPE EA: The K.14.XX EA stage has transitioned to the GA stage and is no longer available.
CPE GA: K.14.60 and later support the HP Survivable Branch Communication zl Module
Maintenance: At the time of this writing, software versions K.14.XXm do not currently support the
HP Survivable Branch Communication zl Module. Check the release notes of a K.14.XXm version to
determine if it supports this product.
K.15.XX Branch
CPE EA: At the time of this writing, K.15.xx is on the Early Availability CPE branch. Software versions
K.15.xx do not currently support the HP Survivable Branch Communication zl Module. Check the
release notes of a K.15.xx version to determine if it supports this product.
CPE GA: At the time of this writing, there is no General Availability release for the K.15.XX branch.
NOTE: The K.13.XX Branch does not support the HP Survivable Branch Communication zl Module.

PCIe Card Restrictions
Only HP supported PCIe cards may be used in the SBM. Installation of other PCIe cards in the SBM
violate the terms of the HP Warranty. See page 2 for a list of supported PCIe cards.
