Support Notices

IMPORTANT: First Time Power On

The Hard Disk Drive of the HP Survivable Branch Communication zl Module powered by Microsoft

Lync™ (SBM) must be initialized at first power on. This will take approximately 15 minutes. If the

module is removed or if the switch chassis is rebooted during this time, hard disk corruption will

likely occur. Once this initialization is complete, it will not need to occur again during normal

operation.

Switch Software Requirements

K.14.XX Branch

CPE EA: The K.14.XX EA stage has transitioned to the GA stage and is no longer available.

CPE GA: K.14.60 and later support the HP Survivable Branch Communication zl Module

Maintenance: At the time of this writing, software versions K.14.XXm do not currently support the

HP Survivable Branch Communication zl Module. Check the release notes of a K.14.XXm version to

determine if it supports this product.

K.15.XX Branch

CPE EA: At the time of this writing, K.15.xx is on the Early Availability CPE branch. Software versions

K.15.xx do not currently support the HP Survivable Branch Communication zl Module. Check the

release notes of a K.15.xx version to determine if it supports this product.

CPE GA: At the time of this writing, there is no General Availability release for the K.15.XX branch.

NOTE: The K.13.XX Branch does not support the HP Survivable Branch Communication zl Module.

PCIe Card Restrictions

Only HP supported PCIe cards may be used in the SBM. Installation of other PCIe cards in the SBM

violate the terms of the HP Warranty. See page 2 for a list of supported PCIe cards.

Product Information Clarifications Web User Interface Minimum Resolution Requirement When using the Web User Interface, the client machine where the browser is running should support a 1024 x 768 minimum resolution for proper formatting and display of the content. (PR_63300) Switch Software Versions Each major switch software release has two branches: the Current Product Engineering (CPE) branch and the Maintenance branch. A new CPE branch is created for each new major release. Starting with K.

Known Issues Release 1.00.2.00 Known Issues Release 1.00.2.00 The following problems are known issues as of release 1.00.2.00. ■ PR_55182 — If internal Ethernet interface 2 on the SBM is disabled, it will be automatically re-enabled due to the need of in-band HP proprietary communication between the switch chassis and the SBM.

Known Issues Release 1.00.2.00 ■ PR_61051 — From a Web browser interface, the first time Advanced --> PSTN Configuration is selected, a blank screen may be seen (rarely occurs). Closing the window and re-opening tends to solve the problem. ■ PR_61706 — On the certificate page of the installation wizard, choose an option that requires a file import. If the “Certificate Import” field is left blank and then “Import” is clicked, the error message “Please select file to upload” repeated twice.

Known Issues Release 1.00.2.00 domain credentials but not always login successfully. For the best experience, use the CLI only as a Local Administrator. In the event the Local Administrator account's password cannot be remembered, there is an alternative way to reset the password using the domain credentials. 1. Log in to a Windows command prompt session in the services tech context with the domain account (or any account that is in the SBM's “Administrators” group).
