Installation
The TMS zl Module is installed in an HP ProCurve Series 5400zl switch chassis
or HP ProCurve 8212zl switch chassis using software K.13.55 or newer. You
can install up to four TMS zl Modules in the same chassis as long as no more
than two are in an HA cluster. (If you attempt to install a fifth module, that
module will not boot.)
You can install a TMS zl Module in any chassis slot. However, ProCurve
recommends that you avoid using slot A. Depending on the side of the chassis
in which you install the module, you must verify that the switch chassis does
not exceed a certain temperature. See Table 1-1.

Internal Ports
The TMS zl Module receives traffic from and transmits traffic to its host switch
on two internal ports—each of which supports 10 Gbps. When you install the
TMS zl Module into the host switch, it automatically detects these internal
ports and names them according to the slot in which the module is installed.
For example, if you install the TMS zl Module into slot C, the switch references
the ports as C1 and C2.
The function of these internal ports differs, depending on which operating
mode you have selected. For more information about the operating mode and
the function of these ports, see “Operating Modes” on page 1-7.
