Resource Allocation
With any network, it is important to ensure that every user is able to access
resources. Additionally, there may be some users who need priority over
others. The TMS zl Module allows you to set connection limits for each zone
as well as reserve firewall connections for specific addresses or address
ranges.
Zone Limits
Each connection that is initiated in a zone—whether it is destined for the same
zone or a different zone—counts as a connection for that zone. The default
connection limit for zones are as follows:
■ Self—21428
■ Internal—150,000
■ External—150,000
■ DMZ—150,000
■ Zone1—21428
■ Zone2—21428
■ Zone3—21428
■ Zone4—21428
■ Zone5—21428
■ Zone6—21428
You may assign as many or as few connections per zone as you like, but the
total number of connections in all zones cannot exceed 600,000. If you are not
using one or more zones, you can transfer their limits to the zones that you
are using.
To configure zone limits, select Firewall > Settings and click the Connection
Allocations tab.
Connection Reservations
When you set a connection reservation, you ensure that a particular IP address
or range of addresses has connectivity regardless of how much traffic is
passing through the TMS zl Module.
