logging
The logging command allows you to set the severity level for logging; the
module forwards messages for events of the selected severity level or higher.
It also allows you to set up log forwarding using the following methods:
SNMP traps
Syslog messages
Email messages
Threshold
Table A-16 gives the available options for the logging threshold command.
Table A-16. Options for the Logging Command
To set the severity at which the module forwards log messages, enter this
command:
Syntax: [no] logging threshold severity <event severity>
Replace <event severity> with one of the severity levels indicated in the
table. For example, if you only want to receive messages of severity major and
higher, you would enter the following command:
ProCurve(tms-module-<slot ID>)# logging threshold
severity major
Use the logging threshold duplicates command to limit the number of
duplicate messages that the module forwards. The module will send the log
message when either the maximum duplicate messages threshold has been
reached or the specified time limit has expired, whichever comes first.
