Global Configuration Context
From the global configuration context, you can configure:
■ The administrative distance
■ Route redistribution—connected, static, RIP
■ The default metric
■ The metric type
■ The router ID
To set the administrative distance, enter the following:
Syntax: router ospf distance <distance>
Replace <distance> with the administrative distance (1–255).
To set the default metric, enter the following:
Syntax: router ospf default-metric <metric>
Replace <metric> with the administrative distance (1–255).
To set the metric type, enter the following:
Syntax: router ospf metric-type < type1 | type2 >
To set the router ID, enter the following:
Syntax: router ospf router-id <ID>
Replace <ID> with the module’s unique OSPF ID.
To redistribute routes, enter the following command:
Syntax: router ospf redistribute [connected | static | rip]
OSPF Context. The following commands refer to the OSPF context.
To access the OSPF context, enter the following:
Syntax: [no] router ospf
To verify your location in the CLI, check the prompt. In the OSPF context, the
prompt is ProCurve(tms-module-<slot ID>:ospf)#.
From the OSPF router context you can:
■ Configure areas
■ Configure graceful restart
■ Enable and disable RFC 1583 compatibility
■ Restrict addresses
