Configure an L2TP over IPsec VPN
7. For Local ID, configure the ID that the TMS zl Module sends to authenticate
itself. (For more information about ID types, see “IKE Phase 1” on page
7-13.)
a. For Ty pe , select the ID type:
–IP Address
Domain Name
–Email Address
Distinguished Name
You can select any type.
b. For Value, type the correct value.
If you select IP Address for Type, the address that you specify in the
Value box must match the IP address that you specified for the local
gateway.
Table 7-14 shows the format for each ID type.

8. For Remote ID, specify an ID that matches the ID that remote clients send
to authenticate themselves. Table 7-15 displays valid remote ID types and
values for L2TP clients.
a. For Ty pe , select the ID type:
–IP Address
Domain Name
–Email Address
Distinguished Name
Note that you should select IP Address or Domain Name if this IKE
policy will specify pre-shared key authentication.
b. For Value, type the correct value.
