Configuring Static Routes
To configure static routes, you must configure the following parameters:
Destination Type
The TMS zl Module allows three destination types:
Networkselect this option if the destination is a subnet.
Host—select this option if the destination is a specific device.
Default Gateway—select this option when creating a default route.
See “Configuring a Default Gateway” on page 9-9.
Destination Address
The destination is the address to be reached by this route. If you select
Network or Host for the destination type, you must also configure a
destination address. For a network route, you must specify the destination
network address and prefix length (for example, 10.1.0.0/16). When the
module looks for a route that matches a packet’s destination, it only
compares the bits specified by the prefix. For a host route, you specify
the exact IP address of the host.
If you select Default Gateway for the destination type, you do not need to
configure a destination address; 0.0.0.0/0 is automatically assigned as the
destination address.
