Troubleshooting
Basic Troubleshooting Tools
You can enter the following command from either the manager-level context
or the global configuration context in the TMS zl Module’s CLI:
Syntax: nslookup <hostname>
Replace <hostname> with the host name that you want to resolve.
For example, if you want to know the IP address for router5, enter:
hostswitch(tms-module-C)# nslookup router5
show commands
The TMS zl Module provides a number of helpful show commands, some of
which are listed in Figure 10-2. (For more information about any of these
commands, see Appendix A, “Command-Line Reference.”)

show arp show arp Displays the TMS zl Module’s ARP cache
entries.
show connections show connections [sip <source IP address>]
[dip <destination IP address>] [szone
<source zone>] [dzone <destination zone>]
[pid <policy ID>]
Displays the active connections on your
network. You can view all of the active
connections, or you can view them
according to the following factors:
• Source zone
• Destination zone
• Source address
• Destination address
•Policy ID

show ip dns show ip dns Displays the DNS settings that are
configured on the module.
show ip route show ip route Displays the entries in the TMS zl Module’s
route table, including directly connected
networks, static routes, or routes learned
through Routing Information Protocol (RIP)
or Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).
show logging show logging [local [reverse] [filter id
<message ID>] [filter search <search>] [filter
severity < critical | major | minor | warning |
information>]
Displays log messages.
