gre <tunnel name> keepalive
This command enables the GRE tunnel keepalive mechanism.
To configure keepalives for GRE tunnel, enter the following command:
Syntax: gre <tunnel name> keepalive <period> <retries>
Replace <tunnel name> with name of the GRE tunnel on which you are
enabling (or disabling) keepalive.
Replace <period> with the number of seconds between sending keepalives
(1 to 3600 seconds).
Replace <retries> with the number of keepalives to which the tunnel inter-
face can fail to receive a reply before the module declares the tunnel to be
down (1 to 255).
To disable keepalives, enter the following command:
Syntax: no gre <tunnel name> keepalive
gre <tunnel name> tunnel
This command creates a GRE tunnel (or deletes). When you create a GRE
tunnel, you must specify the following:
■ Tunnel name
■ Tunnel IP address
■ Firewall zone
■ Local and remote IP addresses
To create a GRE tunnel, enter the following command:
Syntax: gre <tunnel name> tunnel <tunnel IP address> <peer IP address> <zone>
<source IP address> <destination IP address>
Replace <tunnel name> with a character string that is unique for this tunnel.
The name can be from 1 to 10 alphanumeric characters.It is recommended
that you use a name that indicates the destination of the tunnel.
