Routing
Multicast
points can join and leave a group. They can belong to more than one group at
once, and groups can contain any number of endpoints at any location in the
network.
IGMP
IGMP is the protocol that allows endpoints to join and leave multicast groups.
The TMS zl Module uses IGMP to determine which multicast groups have
members in which interfaces so that it can properly forward multicast mes-
sages.
Figures 9-22 and 9-23 illustrate how IGMP contains packets by allowing
routers to only forward multicast messages into networks that need them.
