Default Operation
You should understand how the TMS zl Module operates at factory defaults:
■ Default management settings
■ Default enabled capabilities
■ Default firewall access policies
Default Management Settings
At factory default settings, the TMS zl Module has no IP address. You must
access the TMS zl Module CLI through the host switch CLI.
In the CLI, you can enable remote management access:
■ For a module that you want to deploy in routing mode:
a. Verify that the operating mode is routing (the default setting).
b. Add a VLAN to the module and set its zone and IP address.
c. Enable management on that zone.
When you enable management on a zone, access policies that permit
management traffic between that zone and the Self zone are automat-
ically added.
Note At this point, you must access the TMS zl Module from an endpoint in this
VLAN. If you want to access the module from other VLANs, you can add
other VLANs to the zone on which you enabled management. You can also
enable management on other zones.
