Troubleshooting the TMS zl Module in
Monitor Mode
This section provides some guidelines for troubleshooting the TMS zl Module
when it operates in monitor mode. Specifically, it describes how to:
Resolve problems with accessing the Web browser interface
Use logs to troubleshoot problems
Download the IDS signature
Respond if an IDS signature is triggered excessively
Troubleshooting Problems Accessing the Web Browser
Interface
If you cannot access the Web browser interface when the module is in monitor
mode, you should check the following:
You are using HTTPS, rather than HTTP.
If you try to access the TMS zl Modules Web browser interface through
HTTP, you will not be successful. By default, the TMS zl Module supports
only HTTPS. As a security precaution, the TMS zl Module will not redirect
your browser if you enter HTTP with the correct IP address.
The module’s management VLAN and IP address have been config-
ured correctly.
To check the settings on the module, enter:
hostswitch(tms-module-C)# show management
To configure a management interface when the module is operating in
monitor mode, access the TMS zl Modules CLI and enter:
hostswitch(tms-module-C:config)# management vlan
<vlan_id>
hostswitch(tms-module-C:config)# management ip <ip
address> <mask>
