For example, to set an absolute maximum of 3000 connections for the external
zone, enter the following command:
hostswitch(tms-module-<slot ID>:config)# connection-
settings limit external 3000
connection-settings timeout
Set a limit for the amount of time and inactive connection can stay open. You
can set these limits for the default services or you can create a custom timeout
setting. The default services and their default timeouts are listed in Table A-19.
Table A-19. Default connection-settings Timeouts
To adjust a default connection-settings timeout, enter the following command:
Syntax: connection-settings timeout default <service> <timeout>
Replace <service> with a default service. Available default services are listed
in Table A-19.
Replace <timeout> with the number of seconds that you want an inactive
session to remain open.
For example, to set the default TCP session timeout to 100 seconds, enter the
following command:
hostswitch(tms-module-<slot ID>:config)# connection-
settings timeout default tcp 100
To create (or delete) a custom service and timeout, enter the following
command:
Syntax: [no] connection-settings timeout <service> < tcp | udp > <port number>
<timeout>
Replace <service> with a custom service name.
