Command-Line Reference
Global Configuration Context
high-availability active-standby
To set the cluster scheme and configure the cluster’s parameters, enter the
following command:
Syntax: high-availability active-standby cluster <cluster ID> device <device ID>
priority <device priority>] [multicast-ip <multicast address>]
Replace <cluster ID> with the cluster’s ID number (1 to 16).
Replace <device ID> with the module’s ID number within the cluster (1 to 2).
Replace <device priority> with the priority number of the device within the
cluster (1 to 255). Note, however, that it is the boot order, not the device
priority that determines which module becomes the master.
If you enter the multicast-ip option, replace <multicast address> with the
multicast IP address to be used by the HA protocols. If you do not enter this
option, the default multicast address, 224.0.0.18, is used.
For example, to set the cluster scheme to active standby, with a cluster ID and
device ID of 2, a device priority of 3, and the default multicast address, enter
the following command:
hostswitch(tms-module-<slot ID>:config)# high-
availability active-standby cluster 2 device 2 priority 3
high-availability multicast-ip
Use this command to set the multicast IP address to be used by HA protocols:
Syntax: high-availability multicast-ip <multicast address>
Replace <multicast address> with the multicast IP address. (The default
address is 224.0.0.18).
multicast-ip Sets the multicast address for HA protocols
synchronize Propagates the cluster master’s startup-configuration to
the other cluster member
ip Sets the high-availability interface IP address
vlan Sets the high-availability interface vlan
