TMS zl Management and Configuration Guide ST.1.2.100916
2-89
Initial Setup in Routing Mode
Configure SNMP Settings
5. For Role, select the role of the account: Manager (read/write) or Operator
(read only).
6. For Authentication Protocol, select the protocol specified for the account
on the SNMPv3 server: MD5 or SHA-1.
7. For Authentication Passphrase, type the authentication passphrase for the
account.
The passphrase must be between 8 and 265 characters (special or alpha-
numeric).
8. For Privacy Protocol, select the privacy protocol used for the account:
None, DES, or AES.
For the manager role, you must configure privacy settings. If you attempt
to select None, the Role automatically changes to Operator.
For the operator role, you may optionally configure privacy settings but
are not required to do so. For the account to function, however, the setting
must match that on the SNMPv3 server.
9. If you selected a protocol in the previous step, for Privacy Passphrase, type
the privacy passphrase for the account.
The passphrase must be between 8 and 265 characters (special or alpha-
numeric).
10. Click OK.
11. Click Save.
If you want to add more SNMPv3 users, repeat these steps. Use the Edit and
Delete icons in the Tools column to modify or remove a user.
Manage the TMS zl Module Through HP ProCurve
Manager Plus and Network Immunity Manager
You can configure and manage TMS zl Modules from one central management
interface using HP ProCurve Manager (PCM+) and Network Immunity Man-
ager (NIM).
PCM+ provides basic device management and monitoring features such as
traffic monitoring, configuration of management settings, and software
updates. With the addition of NIM, you can configure more settings on your
TMS zl Module or modules centrally, including:
■ Zones
■ Local users and user groups
