3. Continue by completing one of the following steps:

• Register an IDS/IPS signature subscription (if you have purchased

one). You can register the IDS/IPS signature subscription now as part

of the initial setup or later after you have activated the TMS zl module

and booted it to the Product OS.

Both options are described in “Register the IDS/IPS Signature

Subscription” on page 2-8. The only difference is in how the TMS-

subscription hardware ID is obtained.

To register the IDS/IPS signature subscription later (after you activate

the TMS zl module and boot it to the Product OS), obtain the TMS-

subscription hardware ID by following the steps in “Obtain the TMS-

Subscription Hardware ID From Product OS Context” on page 2-16

or “Obtain the TMS-Subscription Hardware ID From Web Browser

Interface” on page 2-16.

• Boot the TMS zl module to the Product OS to begin configuring the

application. See “Boot the TMS zl module to the Product OS” on page

2-11.

To receive updated IDS/IPS signatures, you can purchase one of the following

subscriptions:

■ HP ProCurve Threat Management Services zl module with 1-year IDS/IPS

Subscription (J9156A)

■ HP ProCurve Threat Management Services 1-year IDS/IPS Subscription

(J9157A)

■ HP ProCurve Threat Management Services 2-year IDS/IPS Subscription

(J9158A)

■ HP ProCurve Threat Management Services 3-year IDS/IPS Subscription

(J9159A)

To begin using an IDS/IPS signature subscription, it must be first registered

on the My ProCurve portal (a process that is outlined below). Unlike the TMS

zl module activation process, the subscription registration process does not

require the installation of a subscription license key.
