Getting Started
Initial Configuration
To register the IDS/IPS signature subscription, complete the following tasks.
(Step-by-step instructions for each task are provided in the sections that
follow.)
■ Obtain the subscription registration ID and the TMS-subscription hard-
ware ID.
For step-by-step instructions, see “Obtain the Subscription Registration
ID and TMS-Subscription Hardware ID” on page 2-24.
■ Enter the subscription registration ID and the TMS-subscription hardware
ID on the My ProCurve portal.
For step-by-step instructions, see “Enter the Subscription Registration ID

page 2-26.
Obtain the Subscription Registration ID and TMS-
Subscription Hardware ID
The subscription registration ID and the TMS-subscription hardware ID are
needed to register an IDS/IPS signature subscription successfully.
Subscription Registration ID. If you purchased an IDS/IPS signature
subscription, you received an HP ProCurve Threat Management Services x-
Year IDS/IPS Signature Subscription Registration Card. A subscription
registration ID is printed on this card.
TMS-Subscription Hardware ID.
■ If you are registering the IDS/IPS signature subscription as part of the
initial setup, obtain the TMS-subscription hardware ID by completing the
following steps:
1. Access the host switch’s CLI.
2. From the host switch’s manager-level context, enter the TMS zl module’s
Service OS context. For a module installed in switch slot ‘C’, enter
hostswitch# services c 1
3. Obtain and record the TMS-subscription hardware ID of the module:
hostswitch(services-module-C:HD)# licenses hardware-id tms-subscrip-
tion
■ If you are registering the IDS/IPS signature subscription later (after you
activate the TMS zl module and boot it to the Product OS), obtain the TMS-
subscription hardware ID by following the steps in “Obtain the TMS-
