Internal Ports
The TMS zl module receives traffic from and transmits traffic to its host switch
on two internal ports-each of which supports 10 Gbps. When a TMS zl module
is installed into the host switch, the switch automatically detects these internal
ports and names them according to the slot in which the module is installed.
For example, if the module is installed in slot A, the switch references the
ports as A1 and A2.
The TMS software only works with tagged traffic on port 1 and untagged traffic
on port 2. By default both ports are untagged members of the default VLAN
(VLAN 1). Configuring the TMS software for a VLAN automatically tags port
1 for that VLAN.
The function of these internal ports differs, depending on the operating mode.
For more information about the operating mode and the function of these
ports, see the Threat Management Services zl Module Management and
Configuration Guide.
