Updating Product OS
Updating Product OS
There are two ways to update the Product OS:
■ via FTP: used when the HP ProCurve update server is accessible from the
module
■ via USB: used when the HP ProCurve update server is not accessible from
the module
Note The process of updating the Product OS is faster if the switch is accessed via
Telnet or SSH; the serial console slows down the writing of characters to the
screen, causing a significantly slower installation speed, especially if the
switch console is run at the default 9600 baud.
If the TMS zl module is already running a version of the Product OS, reboot
into the Service OS before continuing:
hostswitch# services c 1
This assumes the module is in slot C.
hostswitch<services-module-C># boot service

Rebooting
Updating Product OS via FTP
1. Ensure that port 1 of the TMS zl module is an untagged member of a VLAN
that connects to the FTP server. The following commands assume the
TMS zl module is installed in slot C and VLAN 1 connects to the FTP server
on the network.
hostswitch# configure
hostswitch(config)# vlan 1 untagged c1
2. Enter the Service OS CLI.
hostswitch# services c 1
