TMS zl Module Activation
“Activate the TMS zl Module” on page 2-5 gives a high-level description of how
the product license can be activated. This section gives a detailed description
of the activation process.
Activate the TMS zl Module
Installing a License
This section describes the steps required to obtain and install the TMS product
license key.
Registration on the HP My ProCurve portal is required to activate Threat
Management Services. Registration is free. To register, go to
https://my.procurve.com and follow the registration instructions.
The general procedure for product activation uses several IDs and keys:
■ product registration ID — This ID is printed on the HP ProCurve Threat
Management Services zl Module Registration and Licensing Card that
is shipped in the box with the module. It represents the customer’s right
to activate a product on a particular type of module.
■ activation hardware ID — This number identifies the module the product
is installed on, and includes the module’s serial number and an identifier
for the product being activated.
■ product license key — This number is generated at https://my.procurve.com,
based on a registration ID and an activation hardware ID. When this
number is installed into the module, it activates the product installed on
the module.
■ uninstall verification key — This number is generated if a TMS license is
uninstalled from a module. It can be used to generate a new registration
ID on the My ProCurve portal, which allows the product to be activated
on a different module.
These numbers are used with the My ProCurve portal and the module’s Web
browser interface or CLI.
