With the new bootloader code, the RP can complete Layer 3 adoption. You
can now install the RP in its final location, and as long as you set up other
requirements described below, the RP will be adopted at Layer 3.
2. Verify that your DHCP server has a configuration that the RPs can use:
• IP address in the RPs’ subnetwork
• IP address of a default gateway
• IP address of a DNS server
• typically, a default domain name
3. Check the configuration of your network’s DNS server, if necessary adding
an entry that maps the Wireless Edge Services zl Module’s hostname to its
IP address.
4. If you choose a different name for your module than the default name
known by the RPs, you must configure the new name on the RPs:
a. Have the module adopt the RPs at Layer 2.
