Configuring the ProCurve Wireless Edge Services zl Module
Management Interfaces
Determining the Dynamic IP Address or Assigning a Static
Address
Initially, you must access the Wireless Edge Services zl Module through the CLI of
the wireless services-enabled switch zl—either to determine the IP address that is
assigned to the module through a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
server or to assign the module a static IP address.
By default, the module is configured to receive an IP address through a DHCP server.
If you keep this default setting, you can simply access the CLI and determine the IP
address dynamically assigned to the module. You can then use this IP address to access
the Web browser interface and manage the module.
Alternatively, you can assign the module a static IP address (again through the CLI).
Access the Wireless Edge Services zl Module CLI. To access the Wireless Edge
Services zl Module CLI, you must first access the CLI for the wireless services-
enabled switch. You can use one of the following access methods:
Serial session
Telnet session
SSH session
If you are connecting to the wireless services-enabled switch through a serial session,
use the serial cable (5184-1894) that was shipped with the switch. Then run terminal
session software such as Tera Term or HyperTerminal on your workstation, setting
the following parameters for the session:
Baud Rate = 9600
Parity = None
Data Bits = 8
Stop Bits = 1
Flow Control = None
If prompted for a password, enter the password for either the manager or the operator
user on the wireless services-enabled switch.
Move to the wireless-services context by entering:
ProCurve# wireless-services <slot letter>
Replace <slot letter> with the letter for the chassis slot in which the Wireless Edge
Services zl Module is installed. For example, if the module is installed in chassis slot
C, you would enter:
ProCurve# wireless-services c
