Configuring Static Translation
Static translation sets up a one-to-one correspondence between a source or destination
IP address and a translated IP address.
The configuration steps depend on whether you configuring static source NAT or
static destination NAT.
Configuring Static Source NAT
When the Wireless Edge Services zl Module stands between two networks that use
different IP addresses, static source NAT allows a device in one network to reach
devices in the other network. The module translates traffic’s source address so that
the device that sent the traffic appears to have a valid IP address in the other network.
Note that the more typical configuration for source NAT is often dynamic NAT
because it allows multiple devices to share the same translated IP address.
