Wireless Network Management
Logging and Alarms
■ Mnemonic—This field includes an abbreviated identification of the type of
event.
■ Description—The description gives you the most information about the event.
You can click on any column heading to organize events according to the information
in that column. The bottom of the screen shows you which line in the log file that
you are currently examining.
You can also enter a value in the field at the bottom of the screen to quickly move to
another page in the log.
Note that the Wireless Edge Services zl Module will continue to save events to this
log. You can view newly saved events without leaving this screen by clicking the
Refresh button.
Click the Close button to close the log and return to the Management > System
Logging > File Mgmt screen.
Deleting and Transferring the Local Log File
If you are certain that neither you nor other administrators need to review the events
in the log, you can select the log file on the Management > System Logging > File
Mgmt screen and click the Clear Buffer button. The module erases the contents of the
file, allowing you to focus on the most important events.
If the buffer should become full, the next event will writes over the oldest (least
recent) event.
It is often a good idea to store a copy of the log remotely before you clear it. Your
organization might also have a policy of periodically collecting device information
and storing it on a central server.
