Software Updates
Check the HP networking Web site frequently for software updates for the various HP networking products you may have in
your network.
Downloading Software and Documentation from the Web
To download software updates and the corresponding product documentation, visit:
www.hp.com/networking/support
You will need the Adobe® Acrobat® Reader to view, print, and/or copy the product documentation.
Note Documentation for this product may be found when you browse for the Manuals pages for the following
products:
• HP E8200zl modular Ethernet switches
• HP E5400zl modular Ethernet switches
• J9051A HP Wireless Edge Services zl Module
• J9052A HP Redundant Wireless Services zl Module
On the resulting Web page, double-click on a document you want. When the document file opens, click on the disk icon
in the Acrobat® toolbar and save a copy of the file.
Downloading Software to the Module
Caution The startup-config file generated by the latest software release is compatible with the same file
generated by earlier software releases. HP recommends that you backup your current configuration
before performing any software update. See the module’s Management and Configuration Guide
(5991-8626) for instructions and more information.
HP periodically provides network device software updates through the Web ( www.hp.com/networking/support). After you
acquire the new software file, use TFTP or FTP from the Web browser interface or the CLI to update the module software.

Note Downloading new software does not change the current module configuration. The module
configuration is contained in a separate file that can also be transferred, for example, for archive
purposes or to be used in another module of the same model.
