Configuring a WLAN
The following sections explain in more detail how to configure these settings.
The advanced options that deal specifically with QoS are described in “Traffic
Management (QoS)” on page 3-71.
SSID
The SSID identifies the WLAN: it is the name that users see when they search
for wireless networks to which to connect (as long as the WLAN operates in
open system). Stations can connect to the same WLAN through multiple RPs
(at various times), as long as all RPs have been configured with that WLAN’s
SSID.
All WLANs must have different SSIDs.
To configure the SSID for a WLAN:
1. Access the Edit screen for the WLAN, as described in the section above.
2. Enter the SSID that you have selected for this WLAN in the SSID field under
Configuration.
