Active or Standby Mode
When you configure a module to be part of a redundancy group, you must
select a mode, which determines the module’s role in the group. You can select:
■ Active mode—In active mode, the module is responsible for adopting
RPs and providing the wireless services that you have configured on the
module.
■ Standby mode—In standby mode, the module is primarily responsible
for providing failover capabilities if the module in active mode becomes
unavailable. (The module in standby mode can adopt RPs in other circum-
stances, as explained in “Adopting RPs” on page 4-10.)
For most configurations, you will select active mode for the primary module
and standby mode for the redundant module.
